The Sixers front office was playing close attention to the Olympics and seen talent worth adding to the roster. According to ESPN, The Sixers sign Frenchman Guerschon Yabusele to a one year deal worth $2.1 million dollars.

Yabusele, who was a 2016 first-round draft pick by the Boston Celtics, had an outstanding performance during the Olympics; posting scoring totals of 22, 17, and 20 against Canada, Germany and the United States.

Yabusele spent the past three years in the EuroLeague with the Spanish giants. Yabusele aided them win the EuroLeague title in 2023 and make the competition’s final four each season. He averaged 9.6 points and shot 43% from 3-point range on 2.6 attempts per game this past season.

Yabusele played meagerly across two seasons for the Celtics before being waived in the summer of 2019. The bruising 6-foot-8, 260-pound power forward could find his place as a mainstay in the sixers roster.
