Michelle Obama Will Read Popular Kids’ Picture Books in Free Live-Streaming Series
In the hopes to continue to shape and educate our youth, former first lady Michelle Obama is dedicating her Mondays to reading her favorite children’s books — which she will read aloud in a free live-stream for kids stuck at home. “Mondays With Michelle Obama,” starting today(4/20) at noon ET, running through May 11. The project is a collaboration with PBS Kids.
Each of Michelle Obama’s reading will be live-streamed simultaneously on PBS Kids’ Facebook page and YouTube channel, and on Penguin Random House’s Facebook page. The videos will remain available for on-demand viewing on each platform afterward.
The four books Obama is reading are:
April 20 – “The Gruffalo” written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler;
April 27 – “There’s a Dragon in Your Book” , written by Tom Fletcher and illustrated by Greg Abbott;
May 4 – “Miss Maple’s Seeds” story and pictures by Eliza Wheeler; and Eric Carle’s
May 11 – “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”, illustrated, and written by Eric Carle
