The NFL has begun to roll out new Covid policies for its clubs. In agreement with the NFL Players Association, the league wide memo states several protocols for the upcoming 2021 season.

Some highlights of the memo include:

  • The NFL strongly recommends players and staff to be vaccinated but it is NOT required.
  • If an outbreak of unvaccinated players causes a game to be canceled…
    • The infected team forfeits the game.
    • The team takes a loss in playoff seeding.
    • The team earns financial penalties, and more possible penalties if protocols were violated.
  • The NFL will NOT be adding a 19th week of Football to abide with canceled games, during the season’s 18 Week schedule.
  • Players who are Covid Positive will NOT be paid their weekly salary and may suffer disciplinary actions from the Commissioner’s Office.

The new NFL restrictions have already garnered the reaction of its players like DeAndre Hopkins, Jalen Ramsey and DJ Reed.
