Haliburton Injury Sets Pacers Back in Game 7, Thunder Win NBA Title

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–The Oklahoma City Thunder won the 2024-25 NBA Championship Sunday night over the Indiana Pacers 103-91 at the Paycom Center.
The Pacers got 9 points out of Tyrese Haliburton, but he injured his leg with 4:55 left in the first quarter and the Thunder up 18-16. He missed the rest of the game.
Indiana led 48-47 at halftime, but the Thunder started the turnaround in the third quarter outscoring the Pacers 34-20 in that period. They would go on to lead by as many as 22 points before the Pacers cut it to 12 with 4:11 to play.
The Pacers turned it over 23 times that led to 32 Thunder points. They were outscored by the Thunder in the paint too 40-26.
Bennedict Mathurin led the Pacers with 24 points and 13 rebounds. The Thunder were led by the NBA’s MVP in Shai Gilgeous Alexander with 29 points and 12 assists.
This is the first title for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pacers have still never won an NBA championship. This was their second ever trip to the NBA Finals.
