Questlove Receives 2025 Peabody Trailblazer Award

Questlove was celebrated with the 2025 Peabody Trailblazer Award on October 10, 2025, in Los Angeles for his contributions to music, film, and cultural preservation. Presented by Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson at The Sun Rose Hotel, the award recognized his work as a musician, filmmaker, and cultural archivist. His documentary Summer of Soul, which revived the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, was highlighted as a key achievement in preserving Black history. In his acceptance speech, Questlove inspired fellow artists with the words, “Joy is an act of rebellion,” emphasizing the power of art and culture to uplift and resist.
