Philadelphia School District Resumes Back-to-School Bus Tour After Weather Delay
The School District of Philadelphia’s annual Back-to-School Bus Tour is back on the road after a weather-related delay, bringing free school supplies, health services and community resources directly to neighborhoods ahead of the new academic year.

The tour officially resumed Friday morning with a stop at Penrose School in South Philadelphia after earlier events were postponed due to severe weather.
Throughout the tour, families can receive free backpacks filled with school supplies, along with access to immunizations, sports physicals, enrollment assistance and information about district programs and community services.
The initiative is part of the district’s annual effort to help students start the school year prepared while connecting families with critical resources before classes begin.
District officials say the traveling event is designed to make back-to-school support more accessible by bringing services directly into neighborhoods across Philadelphia.
The Back-to-School Bus Tour will continue making scheduled stops throughout the city over the coming days. Families are encouraged to attend the event closest to them to take advantage of the free supplies and available services while they last.
The district also noted that one stop at Martin Luther King High School has been rescheduled for Aug. 13 due to the earlier weather disruption.
