February 21 was a beautiful day in a usually cold and dreary month.

Some Pennsylvanians were able to feel the warmth of a 60° day. It would only be right if we people got outside and enjoyed the weather. In Collingdale, Pennsylvania, this  warm winter day could’ve turned into disaster for three kids and their families.

On Monday afternoon, three kids were playing around on an icy pond in Collingdale Park. As the temperatures rose while they were playing upon the pond, these three children fell through the ice and into the water. Local Academy Park High student Anthony Alexander witnessed the madness of the kids falling into the pond.

He hopped off his bike and immediately sprung into action.

In an interview with NBC 10’s Aaron Baskerville, Anthony Alexander recalls hearing their cries for help.

It seemed like they were just accepting their fate.

So I jumped in and grabbed a stick and pulled one little kid out and the other girl was close enough for me to reach her so I pulled her in too.

Local authorities, Yeadon Borough Police, were notified of the incident as Anthony Alexander was trying to pull the children out by himself.

Two police cruisers were initially deployed to assist Anthony. Unfortunately both police cruisers crashed into each other before they could arrive to Collingdale Park. So, Yeadon Borough Police sent another team down to the park to help, thankfully no one was hurt in the vehicle accident.

During the possible drowning situation the three kids thought they were going die.

Anthony Alexander assured in the moment of clarity that he wouldn’t let them. Anthony finally received help from local authorities after pulling two kids from their possible deaths. Police officers quickly gathered the third child and brought all of them to the nearest hospital for medical evaluations. After the ordeal was solved Anthony Alexander got back on his bike and enjoyed the rest of his day.
