  • Jay Dixon

    Jay Dixon joined Radio One Philadelphia as the Program Director of Classix 107.9, 100.3 RNB and Praise HD-2 in April 2019. Jay is a seasoned pro who grew up in Boston listening to “The Sound of Philadelphia.” “I’ve also been a big fan of the artists, producers, musicians and song writers in Philly.  Tom Bell, Linda Creed, Gamble and Huff, Salsoul Records and all of those songs were a huge part of my life.” “It’s a dream come true to be on the radio in Philadelphia, a city that brought a timeless sound to the world.”

     

    Jay began his radio career at the legendary WILD/Boston and mentored by former WHAT Philadelphia Radio personality Sonny Joe White. He’s worked with Isaac Hayes as producer for his morning show on 98.7 Kiss New York.

     

    Jay was also a DJ/Mixer and MC as “Jay Mixin Dixon” at 98.7 Kiss FM New York City while also serving as Production/Creative Services Director. Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, Jay hosted and DJ’d parties at SOB’s in New York while consulting KBLX/San Francisco, Hot 97 and WBLS New York.

     

    Jay hosts middays 9am to 2pm on Classix 1079. He also collects rare copies of vinyl records played on Classix1079 during his “Turntable Tuesday” segment. He also enjoys participating in various events with Community Advocate Solomon Jones and concerts with Lady B. “I enjoy driving through the city and visiting neighborhood bars and when you see random bald, bearded brother in a neighborhood bar talking to people about music, it might be me.”

  • The Lady B Show

    Lady B, Philly born and raised, started her career at WHAT as an intern where she worked with Mary Mason. She got her first fulltime job at Power 99 as a full time DJ. She later transitioned to the competitor, 103.9 WPHI. Lady B has spent the majority of her radio career working in Philadelphia at stations like WRNB and Classix 107.9. Lady B has received several prestigious awards such as Philly Urban Legend Award and the King Peace Award, and many others. Her 30th anniversary concert featured a rap performance by then Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and a surprise performance from her longtime friend, Will Smith and Doug E. Fresh.  Lady B is an avid Philly sports fan and an advocate in the community for organizations like Cancer Who? Hands Across Philly and 3rd Antioch Home School Center.
